As usual clay pots always get better with a continued use thus choose it for the tea that you are brewing pretty often.
Before use: Brush it inside and outside with a toothbrush. You can go crazy and use a toothpaste too My pots are get brushed with LACALUT aktiv. Brush it well cause you like to peel all leftovers of rough clay after pottery especially inside but still carefully enough to keep your pot in a single peace. Rinse well in cold water. Go same way for a lid. Wrap in a little clean smelling towel with a lid off and place in a pot with cold water. You need towel in order to protect pot and a lid from knoking against the wall of pot while cooking. Now you are good to go and bring it to a rolling boil then reduce a heat till slowly boiling and keep going for an hour. Get it out. Cool down. Rinse. Change water.
